Summer 2016 overcrowding at Louisville Metro Corrections has forced officials to re-open jail spaces, some not up to current fire code, to house inmates. The ACLU of Kentucky Legal Program sent this letter to the Commissioner of Kentucky Department of Corrections, hoping for action on moving state inmates out of Louisville Metro Corrections to help ease some of the overcrowding.
