AN ACT relating to the promotion of history—Define permitted and prohibited historical displays; establish guidelines for historical displays on state and local property; establish guidelines for historical displays and instruction on school property. A Senate Committee Substitute directs the Historic Properties Advisory Commission to retrieve from the Hopkinsville Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles the monument of the Ten Commandments that was displayed previously on the Capitol grounds, return it to the Capitol grounds, and place a marker beside the monument describing aspects of the legislative and judicial history of the monument. HCA 1—(Tom, Riner, D—Louisville)—Create a new section of KRS Chapter 6 and amend KRS 7.090 to direct the Legislative, Research Commission to display the national motto “In God We Trust” on the wall directly above and behind the dais of the Speaker of the House of, Representatives; require the display to be consistent with the historic and patriotic display in the United States House of, Representatives.
