Catherine Fosl & Tracy K'Meyer, University of Louisville professors, will sign and discuss their book, Freedom on the Border: An Oral History of the Civil Rights Movement in Kentucky, as well as K’Meyer’s new book, Civil Rights in the Gateway to the South: Louisville, Kentucky, 1945-1980. Fosl is an associate professor of women’s/gender studies and director of the Anne Braden Institute for Social Justice Research at U of L; she has two previous books, including Subversive Southerner, a fine biography of Anne Braden. K’Meyer is an associate professor of U.S. history at U of L, and has authored the book Interracialism and Christian Community in the Postwar South: The Story of Koinonia Farm. Come join us for an excellent, thought-provoking evening of Kentucky history.
