AN ACT relating to crimes and punishments. Create new sections of KRS Chapter 15 and 16 to allow local law enforcement agencies who participate in the KLEFP fund and the state police to enter into agreements with the federal government to allow their peace officers to enforce federal immigration law; create a new section of KRS Chapter 431 to require jails and detention facilities to ascertain a detainee's immigration status and report detainees who are in the nation illegally to the federal government where the detainee has been arrested for a felony or for DUI.
