Chris Hartman Director – Fairness Campaign

Chris is the 1st director of Louisville’s two-decade-old Fairness Campaign and is a steering committee member of Kentucky’s statewide Fairness Coalition. In the past two years, he helped more than double the number of Kentucky cities with anti-discrimination LGBT Fairness ordinances, including the State Capital Frankfort and Appalachian coal town of Vicco, featured on The Colbert Report as the smallest city in America with LGBT protections. He served as Congressman John Yarmuth’s 2008 campaign press secretary, as an AmeriCorps VISTA in St. Louis, and as Philadelphia director of the Democratic National Committee’s open air grassroots fundraising effort in the 2004 presidential election.

Kate Miller Program Director – ACLU of Kentucky

Kate joined the ACLU of KY in 2008. Her emphasis is on education and advocacy and includes work on immigration, abolition of the death penalty, voting rights, privacy, and youth organizing. She also worked as a labor union organizer for the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees prior to joining the ACLU of KY.
