George Eklund joined the ACLU of Kentucky in the summer of 2016 as the Community Engagement Coordinator. His title changed to Field Organizer in the summer of 2018. He works with community groups and advocacy groups to coordinate events and campaigns to advance the ACLU’s policy goals.
George grew up in Morehead, Kentucky and attended Western Kentucky University. Upon graduating, he moved to Louisville where he spent three years doing community organizing for the Network Center for Community Change (NC3). Following his tenure with NC3, he spent four years traveling, consulting with non-profits, and biking across the country to raise money for affordable housing.
In his free time, George enjoys cycling, cooking, spending time outside, and do it yourself projects.
