While House Bill 102 did not make it out of committee, Senate Bill 51 became law and will implement similar changes to help Kentuckians seeking treatment for substance use disorder. HB102 would make it easier for Kentuckians to seek treatment for substance use disorder by removing administrative hurdles related to insurance coverage.

HB102 would prohibit insurers from requiring or using certain review processes for people prescribed certain prescription drugs for substance use disorder. This will allow patients and their healthcare providers to more easily make the best decisions for a person's care. Getting people the treatment they need will reduce incarceration rates, make Kentucky healthier, and strengthen Kentucky's families and economy.
