Oversight of abortion care providers should be left to career health experts in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, not given to politicians. This bill is one part of the Kentucky General Assembly's years-long effort to push abortion care out of reach, bit by bit. Similar legislation has been filed before and we expect this bill to return in the future.

House Bill 103 would allow Kentucky's Auditor of Public Accounts to access abortion care providers' private records. This bill clearly targets providers of abortion care as it does not expand the auditor's powers to any other areas of healthcare. This is already one of the most tightly regulated areas of healthcare, and oversight should be left to health experts, not elected politicians.
