Protect Kentucky Access is a coalition of reproductive rights advocates and allied organizations committed to defeating a constitutional amendment on the November 2022 ballot that will remove the right to abortion from the state constitution, effectively banning abortion in Kentucky. The coalition is seeking a campaign manager to run the day-to-day operations of the campaign. 

PKA seeks to run this campaign in a way that not only leads us to victory, but also builds long-term grassroots power and infrastructure in Kentucky. 


The Campaign Manager will staff the campaign, provide budget oversight, and work with the legal/compliance structure, if necessary. The Manager will oversee the day-to-day aspects of the campaign plan, including:

  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between all elements of the campaign.
  • Identify potential obstacles to success early on and troubleshooting.
  • Create a transparent campaign environment with an emphasis on professional communications between all stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute a voter contact field plan.
  • Develop and engage coalition partners.
  • Identify and manage earned media and social media opportunities in conjunction with the Communications Director. 
  • Ensure all reporting is completed accurately and on time. 
  • Aid in campaign fundraising. 
  • Supervise all campaign staff.
  • Represent the campaign at events. 
  • Develop and run trainings for staff and coalition partners. 
  • Lead GOTV activities. 

Qualifications (Required):

  • 2 or more cycles of campaign experience, including a minimum of 1 cycle in a leadership/management role on a federal or state-level race
  • Experience applying principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in previous work, especially in applying those principles in campaign management and administration
  • Experience overseeing staff and consultants and managing projects across teams
  • Experience with budget and cashflow management
  • Exceptional team leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Commitment to professional ethics and maintaining a supportive and healthy work environment where all team members are empowered to succeed
  • Team player who is willing to step up when needed to get the job done
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Calendar, and Microsoft Excel

Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Additional experience in either campaign finance, field, or communications
  • Proficiency with NGP, VAN and other Democratic campaign tools
  • Familiarity with or prior experience working in on reproductive freedom issues and/or ballot measures

The salary for this position is $6,500-$8,000 per month, commensurate with experience. This position is full time and will be based in Kentucky, in compliance with CDC and local COVID-19 guidelines.
