Hi friends,

Many of you know me as someone who has always tried to channel my anger, fear, and at times, despair, into action. Over the past few years, we’ve witnessed horrific racially motivated violence, the overturning of Roe, attacks on gender-affirming healthcare, and constant threats to immigrant rights. Watching these hits land, again and again, in a country founded by immigrants on stolen land, can feel overwhelming, but sitting on the sidelines is not an option.

That’s why joining ACLU-KY, especially in its 70th year of Fighting Back and Fighting Forward, feels like a gift. I’ve been fortunate in my career to turn my feelings into action, and now, I get to do that every day alongside a team that is fearless in defending civil liberties across the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky.

And this is where you come in. On September 18, the Community Foundation of Louisville’s Give for Good Louisville event will take place, the city’s largest day of online giving. For the ACLU of Kentucky, this is more than a fundraiser. It’s our chance to power the fight for civil rights in communities all across the state. Your support fuels:

  • Legal battles to protect and expand civil liberties
  • Public education programs that inform and empower communities
  • Policy campaigns that hold lawmakers accountable

Even if you’re not in Louisville, your gift matters. Make no mistake, our work is for all of Kentucky. Every donation, whether $10, $25, $50, or more, helps us protect and expand freedoms from Paducah to Pikeville. Donations on Give for Good Louisville also help us unlock bonus prize money and matching gifts, multiplying the impact of your support.

This year, as we celebrate 70 years of defending civil liberties, our goal is to raise $75,000. I know we can reach it, but only with your help. Please stand with us. Invite your friends, family, and coworkers to join the fight. Together, we can ensure that the next 70 years of the ACLU of Kentucky are even stronger, louder, and more impactful.

Join me. Give on September 18th.

Protect Kentucky’s civil liberties, wherever you are.
