These discriminatory bills were sidelined by the novel coronavirus pandemic. Lawmakers will make bills like this a priority for the next legislative session.

We oppose SB90, which could allow every type of health care institution, medical school students and staff, and employees of a health care institution (including doctors, nurses, counselors, assistants, receptionists, etc) to refuse to provide any service that is in conflict with their personal beliefs unless the situation is an emergency. In addition, they can refuse to refer, teach, and research. We also oppose similar legislation filed in the House, HB501.
