The ACLU of Kentucky filed a brief at the Sixth Circuit in support of the decades-old school desegragation plan in Jefferson County. Although federal courts ended their supervision of the desegragation plan several years ago, Jefferson County school officials elected to voluntarily continue the plan for most schools. This case involved the objection by a group of white students' parents who challenged the use of race in the student assignment plan in certain schools.
