We are excited to announce we’ll be hosting our first-ever, summer Youth Organizing Institute June 10-15 on the campus of Kentucky State University. We want to empower young leaders (ages 15-18) to organize around the issues they care about and create a space for them to learn from other young leaders from around the Commonwealth.
The Youth Organizing Institute is an immersive experience to train the next generation of advocates. Young leaders will learn organizing skills, campaign planning, movement building, and how to lobby elected officials. They will hear from a diverse group of experts from around the Commonwealth. Participants will stay in student housing on the campus of Kentucky State University with ACLU-KY staff members and Peer Mentors serving as chaperones.
The cost of accommodations, meals, and the institute will be covered by the ACLU of Kentucky. Upon acceptance, there is a $75 deposit to hold your space in the Institute. If you have questions about the Youth Organizing Institute, email ACLU-KY Field Organizer George Eklund at email@example.com
