Public school employees should not be allowed to subject children to corporal punishment.

We support legislation that would prohibit a person employed by a school district from using corporal physical discipline against a child in a school. Corporal punishment in school is disporportionately used against Black kids. This measure would help reduce racial disparities in discipline and protect all children, no matter their skin color, from physical punishment at school.
