The Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty hosted events with death row exoneree Randy Steidl across the Commonwealth in August 2013. Steidl was released from prison May 28, 2004 after spending 17 years behind bars (14 years on death row) for a crime he had nothing to do with. Steidl visited Kentucky colleges last year and returned to visit faith-based groups, civic clubs, small community gatherings and the State Fair in to share his message, “You can release a man from prison, but you can’t release him from the grave."
