The ACLU of Kentucky has engaged counsel as of May 18, 2023, and has agreed, as we always intended, to voluntarily recognize a union made up of ACLU of Kentucky employees. Any delay in recognition was the result of careful consideration of the original, unprecedented request to recognize a unit with multiple employers, and the desire to engage an attorney who aligns with our values. We look forward to working with our employees and continuing to build a strong ACLU for the commonwealth.
