2026 Maternal Health Luncheon

This fall, the ACLU of Kentucky and SisterSong will mark an important milestone: the 5th Annual Maternal Health Luncheon, and we are proud to welcome the Kentucky Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice as the event’s first sponsor. The luncheon, taking place October 17, 2026, at the University Club at the University of Louisville, has become an important gathering place for people committed to improving reproductive health and maternal health across Kentucky. Our three organizations bring different perspectives and experiences to this work, but we share a common foundation. KRCRC works to protect reproductive and religious freedom and ensure people can make deeply personal health decisions consistent with their own beliefs. SisterSong has helped define and advance the reproductive justice movement, centering the experiences of communities too often excluded from health care systems and public policy. The ACLU of Kentucky works to protect the civil liberties and constitutional rights that allow people to make those decisions free from unnecessary government interference. The Maternal Health Luncheon is where those principles become community. Much of advocacy happens in legislatures, courtrooms, and policy meetings. Once a year, this gathering deliberately shifts the focus. We listen to the people experiencing gaps in reproductive care. We learn from one another. We create space for people to see themselves not simply as observers of the movement, but as part of it. That connection matters, particularly now. Reproductive freedom does not exist separately from voting rights, racial justice, LGBTQ+ equality, economic opportunity, or religious liberty. The rights that shape our lives are connected, and protecting them requires a movement that understands those connections. We are grateful to KRCRC for helping make this fifth year gathering possible. Click Here to Register Now!

bill of rights

The Carl L. Wedekind Bill of Rights Dinner

The Carl L. Wedekind Bill of Rights Dinner is an evening dedicated to celebrating the enduring fight for civil liberties and the people who make that work possible across Kentucky. At a time when so many fundamental rights are being challenged in courts, classrooms, communities, and legislatures, this gathering is both a celebration of progress and a recommitment to the work ahead. We are especially honored to welcome keynote speaker Deborah Archer, President of the National American Civil Liberties Union, a nationally recognized expert on civil rights, civil liberties, and racial justice. We hope you will join us for an inspiring evening of reflection, connection, and renewed commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of every Kentuckian.
