Louisville's police chief has called for Jefferson County Public Schools to have its own police department. That's the last thing JCPS or any school district needs. Kentucky students – no matter where they live – need support, not more law enforcement.

Politicians are using every trick in the book in their attempts to force people to stay pregnant against their will — and they’re trying to recruit the Supreme Court to help them.

We were at the Supreme Court on 10/12 defending access to abortion care. AG Cameron is attempting to revive our case against a KY abortion ban – a case we have already won twice – now that he knows the courts are growing more hostile to reproductive freedom.

Federal law requires schools to make reasonable accommodations so students with disabilities can safely access an equal public education. KY lawmakers abandoned their responsibilities by ending statewide school mask requirements. Thankfully, most districts chose to require masks and follow the law.

We've written to Louisville Metro Council and Mayor Fischer rejecting any proposals to increase policing, incarceration, or surveillance of our students. Students need support, not more police.

Kentucky lawmakers ended statewide school masking requirements. We joined the Children's Law Center and wrote to KY school boards and superintendents reminding them of their obligations to ensure students with disabilities can safely access an equal public education.

We wrote to the Kentucky General Assembly to remind lawmakers they have a legal obligation to ensure students with disabilities have fair and safe access to public education.

KCIW has been without power since August, 26, cutting off air conditioning, clean water, refrigeration, access to counsel, and family visitation. Governor Beshear must act now. Add your name and urge him to take action.
