70th Anniversary Celebration

Since 1955, the ACLU of Kentucky, first known as the Kentucky Civil Liberties Union, has been a leading institution in the fight to defend civil liberties and expand our civil rights. Our work over the last 70 years in communities across Kentucky has evolved and transformed our organization. Today we are the strongest we've ever been, thanks to supporters like you, 13 full-time staff members, over 5,000 union members statewide, and 3,725 volunteers, working together to uphold the rule of law and safeguard our most precious freedoms. The theme for this anniversary, “Fighting Back, Fighting Forward,” describes the ways we are showing up in this critical moment. The ACLU of Kentucky has filed litigation against the Trump administration for book and curriculum bans at Department of Defense schools on military bases. We have joined a coalition of dedicated organizations to respond to the attacks against immigrants in Kentucky and distributed thousands of “Know Your Rights” materials across the state. To move the fight forward, we’ve launched a comprehensive strategic plan focused on safeguarding democracy, challenging systems of oppression, and supporting and developing leaders from communities. In these ways, we are contributing to the fights happening today, while building sustainable power for the future. We're working to raise $200,000 at the November event to keep up the momentum at this crucial moment. Will you help us meet this goal?
