Helen Prejean-Bellarmine University "Dead Man Walking, the Journey Continues"

November 11, 2015 @ 11:00 am 12:30 pm

Sr. Helen Prejean continues the journey she began when she wrote “Dead Man Walking” more than 20 years ago. Most recently she has spent a lot of time with an inmate in Oklahoma, Richard Glossip. Helen and thousands of others believe Richard is innocent. He was about to be executed when the state realized the secret pharmacist had delivered the wrong drug to kill him. Now his execution is stayed indefinitely and an Oklahoma Grand Jury is investigating.

In an editorial the Tulsa World complained,

Now Attorney General Scott Pruitt is using the state multi-county grand jury to investigate the Department of Corrections, and attorneys for death row inmates are preparing who knows how many more efforts to delay executions with the state’s past fumbles as their best evidence.
The title of her presentation at Bellarmine University is “Dead Man Walking, The Journey Continues.” She will be signing copies of her books at the event.
