Hey Kentuckians,

I am headed to the Bluegrass state this month for a comedy show and I heard something that sounded crazy. I heard Kentucky is just one of a handful of states in the country where you lose the right to vote permanently if you have ever been convicted of a felony.

There is a bill to change this, but a couple of legislators have held it up for almost a decade, sounds like they’re the criminals! TAKE ACTION, let your legislators know it is time to restore the right to vote to former felons.

The cornerstone of this great country is the right to vote – and Kentucky lawmakers should be fighting to make sure that every citizen who can vote, does! But instead some are fighting to maintain obstacles for voters! Well, that makes a lot of sense, doesn't it... F*** that!

People marched and fought and died for the right to vote. And now Kentucky has the second highest rate of disenfranchisement of African Americans in the country. Not on my watch!

State representatives and senators get their power from our votes – it's time we demand change.

We won't let a few lawmakers continue to stand in the way of democracy. Not as long as I am the ACLU Voting Rights Ambassador.

TAKE ACTION in support of restoration of voting rights for former felons in Kentucky, and you’ll be entered in a drawing to win two tickets to my show on Friday, February 20 at the Louisville Palace, and a meet and greet with me! Deadline to enter the drawing is Tuesday, February 17.

Love,

Lewis Black
